Larth Bass-Wright OCT: Auroris

Personality: Cautiously cheerful about life, he has a fairly easy-going nature, though if left on his own too long he can get a bit broody. He likes to be helpful and will follow orders given by his superiors or other Guardians even if they don't make much sense to him, preferring to leave the big picture up to others and concentrate on doing his part of things well. He’s rather nervous in unusual situations or when meeting new people and tends to come across a bit panicky and over-friendly on first impressions.

He had originally wanted to join the patrols in the main body of the ship, but found it extremely difficult to identify suspects or give clear reports on situations when he was on his own. He's been looking for a talking partner-pokemon who could accompany him and allow him another chance to join the other Guardians on more populous areas of the Auroris, but for now he’s found a niche in the Bridge area, thanks to the reduced number of personnel. He’s also gotten a lot of experience in cleaning and maintenance of the top thruster section, since he’s not usually actually required to patrol the Bridge.

-Ark (something about the way Ark moves and expresses emotion freaks him out, the voice isn't so bad but the AI's appearance makes him shiver). Plus he keeps hiding wiring problem tests in places only accessible by an two hour jaunt through sadistically angled access vents.

History: Moved out at a young age in order to get a new start away from his mother, who was not at all comfortable with his prosopagnosia, and to avoid pressure to enter the family business. His family specialises in the breeding and maintenance of large water-types, which was how they raised enough money during the Floods to afford space on the Auroris. As a point of pride, the family business is the only business, and his upbringing wasn’t kind to a kid who couldn’t judge pedigree in pokemon or co-ordinate well with other trainers. He was diagnosed as a teenager and has improved a lot over the years, mostly due to enrolling in two counselling and support groups as well as a therapy life-drawing class (he’s terrible but enjoys it). Immensely happier since he entered the Guardians, as his colleagues are both eye-catching and (mostly) remarkably understanding.

Prosopagnosia: Congenital, he's had it since birth. He can see you just fine, but he won't remember your face from prior conversations or be able to spot you in a photograph. He identifies people by their mannerisms or clothes, but doesn't remember voices well either. He has had no problems with direction (some people also lose their ability to path-find) and doesn't require assistance day-to-day but is on the hunt for an experienced psychic-type who could help him to identify problematic individuals or report suspects. He is open about his condition with all Guardians but tends not to reveal it without reason to people from other factions since it encourages attempts to deceive him.

Relationships:

Family: Has two step-brothers, a step-dad and his mother, multiple step-family members. Estranged.
Mikhael: Step-cousin. Apparently close. Deceased. Died pretty violently, if all the blood is anything to go by.

Colleagues: On good terms with most Guardians. Used to be acquaintances with members of the Command group due to his work in the Bridge area.

Weapon: He uses a baton with shock-capability when on patrol, but would much rather send out Snowflake to handle the problem rather than get physical with opponents.

Wound: Took a slice to the stomachin the last round, non-lethal but very painful and a problem for bending or stretching.

Extra: Moody and mischievious, he’s a challenge to work with. He used to be a communally owned Pokémon handed out to newbies without a suitable patrol partner, partially as just another test of their mettle. Larth turned out to be a master utterly unfased by pranks and intimidation tactics after his prior training with Gyarados and Sharpedo, and Snowflake has since settled down to be a fairly reliable powerhouse for the team.
Size: He inhabits a small keystone hand-carved by Larth to serve as a replacement for his original, which is kept in Larth's quarters but is an absolute pain to carry about during everyday life. He can shrink or grow, but tends to hang out over Larth's shoulder at about the size shown in the reference.
Speech: He speaks. Something. Good luck understanding what on earth he’s saying though.

Heidi:

Extra: Given to Larth as a child, she was intended for him to raise alongside his family’s collection of competitive Pokémon. Larth’s medical condition and stress caused him to neglect her for the most part, and when he left home he tried to leave her in his brothers’ care as he felt unable to give her the attention she needed. That plan screeched to halt when she promptly rejected food until finally handed back to him, but she still refuses to speak or even interact much. Larth still isn’t sure what to make of her, but he speaks to her a lot even without receiving an answer.

=After Evolution=
Heidi has finally begun to communicate, but remains haughty and standoffish. Only time will tell if this will be a big change in more than just appearance.

Wilgefortis:

Carry Item: Reaper Cloth, fashioned into a wig and ribbons.

Extra: A valued member of the research department, Wilgefortis is always happy to help (even if you're quite sure you don't need it). The humans around her studied magnetic fields, the properties of metallic pokemon and a variety of physics conundrums that went way, way over Wilgefortis's fairly dippy head, but never ceased to fill her with awe. After learning that her masculine appearance was comical to those around her, she attempted to make a bold statement by acquiring some more feminine accessories and mannerisms. She was in the labs when the explosions occurred and attempted to shield the research materials around her with some success, but lost consciousness until after Deoxys had swept through the laboratories. Evidently her electromagnetic qualities baffled the Deoxys, or they regarded her rock-like state as unthreatening, but she was left alone and unharmed before being woken by Larth's noisy showdown with 'Mikhael' one room over.
Size: Pretty bulky, floats so her head is about the height of Larth's, but is somewhat shorter and a lot wider.
Carrying Capacity: Can carry a reasonable amount of weight as seen in Round 2, but needs to keep relatively close to the ground as her gravity-defiance is supported by electromagnetic interaction with the floor and walls. No free-flying but can get up quite high for a short amount of time if completely unladen.
Speech: Oooh! Ooh! Really very happy to talk about whatever you'd like to talk about! Yep.
